Continuing a tradition that began in Bangkok and then branched out into Brazil, this Easter weekend sees us travel to the United Kingdom to find another bunny-affiliated football club.

Scunthorpe United F.C. first incorporated a little bit of Easter spirit in 1998, when they introduced a club mascot called Scunny Bunny in a home game against Southend United. The mascot has been in attendance ever since at home games at Glanford Park, and even takes part in marathons and half-marathons for charity!

The club badge meanwhile is hard as nails, showing a fist firmly grasping an iron girder. Designed by a graphic design student in the 1990s as part of a competition for a new badge, it emphasises the word ‘Iron’. This in honour of the town’s association with the iron and steel industry – and indeed, to this day Scunthorpe United are known as ‘The Iron’.

On behalf of everyone at Box To Box Football, have a brilliant weekend!
