In a new series of illustrations, Matt Pascoe, draws the four legendary characters from the legendary Class of 92 team – Giggs, Beckham, Scholes and Gary Neville. These four embody a lot of what made a generation fall in love with football – the hairstyles, the kits and in particular putting Alan Hansen in his place.
Seen here as fresh-faced lads who graduated to the early ’90s United side and would go on to dominate the first decade of the Premier League era, of course donning the incredible blue and white Adidas kit, which in itself is a reason to be thankful for ’90s football.
- Ryan Giggs: The first member of the Class of 92 to break into the Manchester United first team and cement his place in the history books.
- David Beckham: Possibly the game’s biggest ever global icon, a fresh-faced lad who surely had no idea what lay ahead.
- Paul Scholes: A player with as much talent as modesty. But if Zidane says he’s the toughest opponent he’s ever faced, you know he must be pretty good.
- Gary Neville: A player who sums up exactly what it is to be loyal to a cause and throw his all at every game no questions asked.
