With Christmas just around the corner, talk amongst the younger football fans will be turning to Santa Claus and his reindeer. Last year we looked at the former, and now it’s time for a lookalike of the latter – the deer on the badge of Chasetown Football Club.
The team, from the Chasetown area of Burntwood in the United Kingdom, play in Division One South of the Northern Premier League. The deer on their badge references the nearby Cannock Chase, where it is thought that hundreds of deer reside. And just beneath the deer is a Stafford Knot, a nod to the Staffordshire County location of Burntwood. So when it comes to the details of the Chasetown F.C. badge, it’s all about location, location, location.
From all of us at Box to Box Football – we wish you a very happy holidays, and will see you again in 2018 for more surprising stories behind football club crests!
