Today our badge of the week is channeling a little Christmas spirit, in the guise of Reindeer FC.

The club was formed in June 2019, entering the bottom division of the Mansfield Sunday League in the UK. Some of the original squad was made up of locals from a nearby pub that the club took its name from: The Reindeer.

After a mixed first season that was cancelled prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the club underwent a change in management and club captain, and moved grounds to the second pitch at Rainworth Miners Welfare. Reindeer FC would excel in their sophomore year, going unbeaten in their opening four matches, and winning 6-0 in a local cup game against the Hop Inn (a team two leagues above).

On behalf of everyone at Box To Box Football we say, ‘Up the Deer!’, and hope that Reindeer FC – along with football clubs across the UK and world in general – will be able to consistently play football again in the not-too-distant future.

For now though, however you may be celebrating this festive season, we wish you a happy holidays and new year!
