A contender for one of the most bizarre badges we’ve seen is matched by the hardest to pronounce team name with FC Eyjafjallajökull, an amateur football team in Iceland.

You might be thinking you’ve seen a word just as unpronounceable before and you wouldn’t be wrong as the volcano (and resulting ash cloud) grabbed the headlines back in April 2010 for not only disrupting air travel but befuddling people on how to pronounce the name.

As you may know, this ash cloud has already had a significant effect on football, preventing a potentially huge transfer in football as Robert Lewandowski missed the chance of heading to Lancashire to join Blackburn Rovers. Instead, he joined Borussia Dortmund from Lech Poznan and the rest is history. The depiction of the ash cloud is probably directly from Sam Allardyce’s memory as he was sacked at the end of 2010 with Rovers 13th in the league.

Now FC Eyjafjallajokull are looking to impact football in an equally significant way by depicting the fiery apocalyptic scene on their club crest.
