Box to Box Football hopes you all have been enjoying the holiday season, and that you have a very Happy New Year!

Three weeks on and over 7,000 miles away from our previous badge, today we look at the Suffolk based Bungay Town Football Club.

The team formed in 1925 as an amalgamation of two existing Bungay clubs. This new Bungay Town F.C. joined the Norfolk and Suffolk League a decade later, winning the league title a remarkable four times between 1946 to 1952.

The team is known as ‘The Black Dogs’, a nickname emphasised by the excitable looking mutt seen running across their crest. The Black Dog is a local legend stemming back to a stormy night in 1577, when the devil is said to have appeared in Bungay in the form of a terrifying black canine.
